Adolescent Diversion Program
Mission
The Mission of the Sixth Judicial District Attorney's Adolescent Diversion Program is to serve Madison, East Carroll and Tensas Parishes in preventative education for at risk adolescents and their families and reduce crimes.
Vision
We have a hisotry that dates back to 1991 under the Louisiana State Department of Health & Hospitals and the Region VIII Office of Alcohol & Drug Abuse, in collaboration with the Sixth Judicial District Attorney's Office in Tallulah, Louisiana.Our vision is to improve the quality of life for at-risk youth in Madison, East Carroll and Tensas Parishes by educating them about the consequences of using alcohol, tobacco and othe drugs, and by providing a structures program that will promote proper social behavior.
We visualize youth with healthy bodies and souls, and with spiritual centers of hope and life where none existed before.
The Staff
The services of the Sixth Judicial Adolescent Diversion Program are provided by a compassionate, motivated, and highly competent staff which consists of a program director, an administrative assistance, a counselor, three (3) case managers, and one (1) intake/receptionist.The program is conducted out of the Sixth Judicial District Attorney's Office in Tallulah, Louisiana The staff are committed to providing quality care which will improve each participant's quality of life.
Admission
- Referrals - Sixth Judicial District Courts, Department of Youth Servicesin East Carroll, Madison and Tensas Parishes.
- Formal Voluntary Admission - Parent or legal guardian signs a form requesting services

Purpose
The purpose of the DIstrict Attorney's Adolescent Diversion Program is to provide preventative education, informal counseling and referral services to at-risk youth and for first-time juvenile misdemeanor offenders, ages 8-17. The targeted area consist of Madison, East Carroll and Tensas Parishes.Our goal is to provide a learning environment so that the program's participants may gain the necessary prevention education and counseling to help them become productive and drug-free individuals.
Activities include one-on-one counseling, prevention presentations and lectures by qualified presenters, film presentations, educational field trips, summer recreation program, job readiness which includes assistance in finding employment, parenting classes, and mentoring.
